The historical jewel on the river "Havel" is considered one of the most attractive locations in Germany. Potsdam was historically the city of the aristocracy and the military. Under the reign of Emperor Wilhelm and his popular wife Auguste Viktoria bloomed the noble society and offered the aristocracy the military and high officials an incentive to move to Potsdam. The population grew, and with it the town.

Buildings from that time dominate the city of Potsdam until today. And economical parallels to this time can today also be drawn. The water and the wooded surrounding and the special, partly French influenced flair, attract today again affluent new residents. The capital of the german state “Brandenburg” is again center of a growing region. The population grew in the past 12 years by about 23%, and it is forecasted that Potsdam will in the next few years expiereince a further 20% growth.

A particular advantage of the 147,000 inhabitants City of Potsdam is its closeness to Berlin. Potsdam is through the Glienicker Bridge almost directly connected with Berlin, but offers with its unique buildings, its lakes and forests and the rich leisure activities a different and high degree of quality of life. The good transport links provide therfore for the usage of all these benefits while you still can reach either the KaDeWe, or the Berlin Tegel airport in less than 30 minutes.

But even as a scientific and economic location has Potsdam made itself a name. With its three universities and about 30 research institutions, such as the Hasso Plattner Institute at the University of Potsdam, and the design centre of Volkswagen, Potsdam has become the new home of about 19,000 students in 4000 scientists. Other sectors such as the “Babelsberg” film studios and the successful settlement of large internationally renowned companies such as Oracle, Toll Collect, and Bayer Bioscience are further clear evidence of the potential of this city.

All of these factors do of courseinfluence the market for residential real estate, so that in our opinion, high potential increases in real estate prices, particularly in the segment of historic buildings can be expected in the future.
